The spring legislative session starts on March 3, and one of the items on the agenda is Bill 57, a bill that could potentially criminalize the right of Manitobans to protest in public spaces. Like many other bills introduced last year, the details of this bill have not been made public, and we are very concerned about what the “protection of critical infrastructure” will mean and how it will be enforced.
Before session begins in March, let’s ensure that our right to peaceful protest is protected! Use MEJC’s letter writing tool to contact your MLA here. And sign the petition here.
