Winnipeggers Protest Prorogation

Concerned Canadians gathered in rallies across the country on Saturday (January 23, 2010) to let Prime Minister Harper know that his prorogation of parliament was a very bad idea. In Winnipeg a crowd swelling to well over 300 people lined the streets in a rally that included speakers at The University of Winnipeg and a march to the Legislative Building and back. The speakers were all passionate; the crowd was exhilarated and loud. Cries of “shame” and “get back to work” could be heard throughout the protest.
